Game Development

my game: A warrior is taking revenge of her father because an evil demon killed her father and her father took off the demons arm and shattered the other arm of the demon but the shattered peices are held together through his magic. she has to go throught the abandoned hills to find him and get revenge she plans on killing the demon with her weapon (MTAR) which would kill of the demon with one bullet.

What did i do?

Well firstly i started my pieces by sketching them onto a4 paper in which i would then scan them into the computer using the EPSON scanner and then saving the scanned images onto my USB so i could then place them into photoshop and edit them.

What influenced my designs? Why? and What i did?

My influence came from tomb raider but i wanted to change almost everything about her but the style and the weapon

my influence for my evil character was just from my imagination but got the kinda evil looking effect inspiration from this image from google but i had to improvise the bottom half.

my inspiration for the gun came from the real model of the MTAR because i like the uniqueness of the weapon and the futuristic design.

for this i just wanted
who is the target audience? the target audience is going to be 12 simply because i have introduced a weapon a gun to be specific which will automatically bring up the age rating as its seen as an act of violence.  How do my designs appeal to them? my designs are interesting and are unique which can be appealing to the eye and also my designs for everything are bright and colorful except my evil character who is meant to look dark and mysterious or odd looking so i gave him a mysterious and evil look which you can easily thought who the good and who the bad characters are.

what have i learnt?
Well i have learnt how to make a fire effect by starting of by using the brush tool going around the edges with the colours red, orange and yellow. then to create the effect i used the blur tool to blend it all together creating the fire effect on my evil character to make out the hair. also to quickly colour parts of my peices i used the magic wand tool which would select an area inside of the lines and this also allowed me to paint multiple areas with one click and also let me edit the areas colour by pressing CTRL+U which would bring up the hue and saturation of the color i just painted and this allows me to change the colour without clicking to paint is all again.

What would i change if i was to do this again?

Firstly

i would make all my characters and pieces have alot more detail if i had more time with the demon  i would make the flame detail on his head more flame looking by spending more time using the blend and brush tools creating a better fire effect.
The weapon i would make alot better by getting rid of all the pencil marks and from looking at the gun now i would change the color scheme around because the gun just looks of and fro the environment the warrioir is in i think a camo would have suited the gun better.
i Think the warrior worked well and follows alot of my inspiration from tomb raider the only thing i would do is fine out the lines better and make it look smoother
The level is what im the least imprest with its not really that well done and finished of with all the jagged lines but other than that its okay and looks quite retro also i have implemented a secret room underneath the ground with a chest and gold and above it is meant to be a mirror.

Cute characters - Illustrator

followed the tutorial but the only problem i had was the illustrator i was using was more updated than the tutorials version and some of the software's elements was moved but i found ways around these problems.

to make the star i put all the shapes i needed together, overall, star and a semi circle and placed them into a cute character format and then to color my shapes in making character more appealing and cute i used the gradient and color wheel tool in the bottom left along with all the other elements.

The next character was very simple i just used three circles which i had made perfect by holding down the shift key while expressing the shapes scale. Then i grouped them like i had done to the star to make it all one solid piece. then for the next characters shape i would use a circle and then a rectangle which i would then easily rotate so it was portrait and gave my character length. then for the mouth i again used the overall shape but i wanted it to be not to be a perfect circle so for this i didn't hold onto the "shift" key so i made this shape freely. i then copied this shape and with new one i held shift so i could keep the right proportions and then lowered the scale of the shape and colored this red to represent the tongue.

Snapchat is a video messaging application created by Evan SpiegelBobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown, when they were students at Stanford UniversityUsing the application, users can take photos, record videos, add text and drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients. These sent photographs and videos are known as "Snaps". Users set a time limit for how long recipients can view their Snaps (as of September 2015, the range is from 1 to 10 seconds), after which Snapchat claims they will be deleted from the company's servers.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapchat
SnapChat has a primary US target market of over 50m 13-24 year olds, representing their largest user demographic. Globally, 55% of SnapChat users are in the US, with Europe making up the second largest geographic totaling 33% of all users. More 30+ year olds are beginning to use the service, but that usage is significantly lower. Catering to the 13-24 yo market is largely through speed of the transaction (typically a photo or video of short duration), and through the ephemeral nature of the communication. Since Snaps typically only 'live' for up to 10 seconds, engagement is short & sweet, with no official record of the message left behind. The company has also added a Stories feature to extend the shelf-life of those messages to 24 hours, for repeated viewing as desired, and a feature called SnapCash that allows users to send funds/payments to each other. SnapStories now exceed Snaps on a monthly basis, exceeding 1.2b as of late 2014. Since the company's network infrastructure is US-based, certain international users may need to be aware of local (age or content-related) laws for using this type of service, as well as data costs that might be applied.

Also they have more success aswell because you can add people nearby and even send requests to others that have your number and also linked with snapchat.
